When I was just a tiny baby, I was abandoned in a bag outside a veterinary office in Louisiana. The person who left me ran away, and the people who found me weren’t sure I was going to make it. I was critically ill and needed multiple blood transfusions along with around-the-clock veterinary care just to survive. But a whole team of incredible people refused to give up on me… …and neither did I. Fast forward a few months, and now I’m a healthy, happy, tail-wagging little girl living my best life in New England! I’ve traded hospital visits for squeaky toys, cuddles, and adventures, and now I’m just looking for one more thing… My forever family. ❤️ 🐾 Why You’ll Love Me 🤎 Just look at me! I’m crate trained, already know sit, stand, and down, and I’m making fantastic progress with my potty training every single day. 🎾 My favorite hobbies include playing with the resident dog in my foster home, chasing giant balls that are almost as big as I am, and supervising the neighborhood from the back deck like it’s my full-time job. 🌼 I’m curious about everything, but sometimes I like to take a minute to make sure new things are safe. Meet Glitter Enchanted Maddy—GEMs! GEMs is a gorgeous 5-month-old puppy who arrived in New England just a couple of weeks ago. After spending some time settling into foster care and learning the routines of family life, she is now officially available and ready to begin meeting potential adopters! Although both of her siblings have already found their forever homes, GEMs has not been waiting here for months. Her search in New England is only just beginning, and she is excited to find the family who will help her continue blossoming. GEMs is a striking black-and-white puppy with oversized ears, expressive eyes, and an adorable little freckle on her nose. She can initially be shy around unfamiliar people or in new environments, but she remains curious and will often greet people slowly with a wagging tail. She simply needs a little time and gentle encouragement before showing her full personality. Once she feels comfortable, GEMs is playful, affectionate, and wonderfully silly. She loves following her people around the house, cuddling on the couch, receiving attention, and being included in whatever her family is doing. She is also incredibly bouncy! GEMs hops, skips, and leaps after balls, jumps between couches, and loves pouncing into playtime with her foster sibling. Her favorite activities include chasing toys, chewing bones, playing with other dogs, going for long walks, and exploring places such as the beach. GEMs is extremely food motivated and is currently learning basic commands, including sit, down, and come. She does well with potty training when kept on a consistent schedule and has few to no accidents. She enjoys sleeping in her crate overnight and generally settles comfortably. She is still working on feeling secure when left alone and may initially vocalize before settling. She does especially well when another dog is nearby, so her future family should be prepared to continue building her confidence and independence gradually. GEMs enjoys playing with other dogs. She can occasionally become uncomfortable if another dog approaches her food or a high-value bone, so meals and special chews should be given separately while her family continues positive training. She has not displayed this behavior toward people or around regular toys. GEMs is curious and may try to chase small animals or other exciting things outdoors. Her family will need to use secure leash handling, carefully manage doors and gates, and keep her supervised outside while continuing recall training. This sweet girl would thrive with a patient and active family willing to continue her puppy training, confidence building, socialization, and daily exercise. Obedience classes would be a wonderful way to help her become the confident and well-mannered dog she is capable of being. She may enjoy living with a playful, compatible dog who can provide companionship, but she could also be successful as an only dog with a family committed to giving her plenty of attention and activity. But it’s his sweet personality that will make you fall in love. Ruckus is a happy, affectionate puppy who loves people of all ages, including kids, and enjoys playing with other dogs. He was raised in foster care alongside his littermate, Porter, and the two loved wrestling, playing, and exploring together. Since Porter found his forever home, Ruckus has really come into his own, allowing his playful, goofy personality to shine. These days, one of Ruckus’s favorite things is playing with his foster family’s resident dog. Whether they’re wrestling in the yard, chasing each other around, or simply hanging out together, Ruckus absolutely loves having a canine companion. Because of that, he’d likely enjoy a home with another playful dog, though he would also do well as long as his new family is ready to give him plenty of love, playtime, and enrichment. Like any growing puppy, Ruckus loves treats, toys, walks, and spending time with his people. He’s even learning how to play Frisbee! Whether he’s exploring the backyard, going for a stroll, or joining the kids for outdoor fun, he’s happiest when he’s included in whatever his family is doing. Ruckus is already making great progress with training. He sleeps through the night in his crate without accidents and will even put himself to bed when he needs a nap. He already knows “sit,” is learning to come when called, and is doing well with leash walking. He’s still working on typical puppy manners (like remembering the leash isn’t a chew toy!), but he’s eager to learn and responds well to positive reinforcement. House training is also coming along nicely, and with continued consistency and patience, he’ll continue to thrive. I’m currently accepting applications for my forever family. (It’s a very exclusive position, so I have high standards… okay, not really. If you have treats, you’re already doing great.) When I first came into rescue, I wasn’t so sure about this whole “world” thing. New places and new people felt a little scary. But guess what? I’ve figured out that life is actually pretty amazing! Every day I get a little braver, a little sillier, and a whole lot happier. These days you’ll usually find me… 🐾 Playing with my dog friends. 🧸 Collecting toys like they’re priceless treasures. 🥰 Handing out snuggles whenever someone has a free lap. 🍖 Politely accepting treats. (Okay… enthusiastically accepting treats.) ☀️ Soaking up sunshine whenever I can. I’m a social butterfly! I love dogs, people, kids… honestly, if you’re kind to me, we’re probably going to be best friends. I’m also becoming quite the responsible young lady. I’m almost a crate expert—sometimes I even walk right in all by myself! I’m mostly potty trained too… although if it’s raining outside, I might look at you like, “Are you absolutely sure this is necessary?” I mean… can you blame a girl for not wanting wet paws? My foster family says I’m eager to please and that I just want someone to love. They’re right. I don’t ask for much. A comfy bed, a few toys, some belly rubs, and a family to call my own would make me the happiest pup in the world. Oh… one tiny confession… If you accidentally leave food trash where I can reach it… I may assume you left me a surprise snack. I consider it helping with cleanup. You’re welcome. I’ve come such a long way since arriving in rescue, and I’m so proud of the confident, goofy, loving girl I’m becoming. Now all I need is someone to keep cheering me on while I continue to grow. Meet Sugar!!! Sugar is exactly what her name suggests—an incredibly sweet, loving girl with a heart full of affection and a playful spirit. After spending months blossoming in foster care, she has grown into a happy, devoted companion who is ready to find the family she can call her own. If you're looking for a dog who forms a deep bond with her people, Sugar is your girl. Her favorite place in the world is right by your side, whether you're relaxing at home, heading out for a car ride, or tossing a ball in the backyard. She loves playing fetch, chewing on bones and antlers, solving treat puzzles, and chasing the spray from the garden hose. At the end of the day, you'll often find her happily burrowed into a cozy pile of blankets, dreaming away in a comfy bed. Sugar is wonderfully affectionate and thrives on spending quality time with her family. She's also an excellent houseguest—fully potty trained since day one, happily settles into her crate when her family is away, and is always eager to earn a tasty treat for being such a good girl. One of the most rewarding parts of Sugars journey has been watching her confidence grow. While she can be a little cautious in new environments, each new experience helps her blossom. The beach, for example, seemed overwhelming at first, but after just a few visits it quickly became a place she truly enjoyed. She prefers quieter surroundings over busy crowds and loud city life, and she feels most comfortable exploring new places at her own pace. A canine friend she trusts can help boost her confidence on new adventures, but she's equally happy enjoying familiar walks and routines with her people. Sugar would do best with a family that understands and respects her need for personal space. She forms very strong bonds with her people and can be protective of that relationship around other dogs. While she has successfully lived and played with another dog in her foster home, introductions and management are important. Because of this, we believe shed thrive as an only dog where she can soak up all of the love and attention, or with an experienced adopter who understands dog behavior and can carefully manage a multi-dog household. Like many active young dogs, Sugar has plenty of playful energy. A previous leg injury doesn't slow her down one bit—she runs, jumps, plays, and enjoys life to the fullest. To keep her feeling her best, regular walks help strengthen her muscles, and her foster simply avoids repetitive, high-speed games of fetch that can make her limp more noticeable. She also eats from a slow feeder due to a sensitive stomach and receives an omega-3 supplement with dinner to keep her coat healthy after fully recovering from puppyhood mange. One thing to know about Sugar? Chickens are definitely not on her list of friends, so a home without poultry is a must! Sugar has made incredible progress thanks to the love and patience of her foster family. They absolutely adore her and know that the person who welcomes her home will be gaining a loyal best friend who will love them with her whole heart.
