Meet Graves!! He’s a 2 year old pittie mix. His foster has a lot of info so here is his bio!!
“Ready to start my new lease on life!
My name is Graves! I was formerly incarcerated on death row when a nice lady came to see me. She saw that I was innocent and didn’t deserve the sentence I had gotten! She saw that I was a good boy who was taught to be bad and never had any home training, so she brought me home! I am very treat and toy motived! I learn fast and really do my very best to be a good boy! I was never allowed to be a dog, so at 2 years old I’m just learning how. I am a BIG boy, will be over 60lbs when I’m not skinny and I am very strong. I am learning how big I am, but I have to be reminded- so small children in my home is probably not in my best interest.
I am working on commands like tricks, but also “wait” and “gentle” because I was taught before my life sentence to grab things quickly. Trying to unlearn that takes consistent effort so I need someone who will work with me to stay a good gentle boy. I am dog friendly and like to play but only with big dogs. I forget how big I am with small animals sometimes, but maybe in a few years we can talk about getting one.
I really am just a big goofy boy who just wants to play and be loved. I am learning about cuddles, walks, couches and beds- but this is all new to me, so at first I get very excited about new things and my foster momma has to go slow and remind me to “calm” and be “gentle”.
I look like a big tough guy, but inside I’m just a goofy teddy bear who is ready to try anything once. My foster momma’s favorite part about me is my big droopy mouth, and she likes to pinch it and give me kisses and I love it too!”
